The most important precaution before any laser hair removal treatment is to avoid any tanning of the area for at least a week. Tanning increases the melanin in your skin which means some of the energy may be diverted into the skin as opposed to the hair shaft, which may interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment. For optimal results avoid tanning during your hair reduction period.

Prior to your Laser treatment it can save time and extra cost if you shave the area being treated. We can do this for you if you do not have time or the area is too difficult for your to reach at an addition charge. Please note there is only a shaving fee on discounted treatments. Shaving is included in full price laser treatments.

Depending on the area being treated as hair can be attached to the follicle in varying quantities, treatment intervals can be from 4 to 6 weeks for most body areas. If you have had a number of treatments it may be stretched out to longer intervals. Some areas may also respond quicker to treatment as well. You may need between 6-12 sessions per area but this can vary from person to person.

You may have read other clinics advertising that their equipment delivers virtually pain free treatments, they are either not telling you the whole truth or their machines are not supplying enough energy to produce the results required to damage the hair follicle. There should be some discomfort experienced or you may be wasting your time and money!

However the good news is, after each treatment the discomfort becomes less and less as the hair reduces. With our technology the laser targets the hair follicle itself and surrounding tissue minimally. Another reason why the Primelase diode laser system is better than the rest.

The most important after care is avoiding the sun after treatment so as to avoid further inflammation in the treated area. Keeping the areas being treated out of the sun also reduces melanin in the skin thus making future treatments more effective. You should avoid any saunas or hot baths. Physical activity that will induce sweating should also be limited to prevent irritation or redness occurring on the day of treatment plus avoid hot showers and baths.
